Biniarbolla Liqueurs has been part of Menorca's history for more than three generations . As a child, Cristina, our distiller, learned to make herbs with her grandmother, while she told her stories of the monks of Monte Toro and the original recipe for "medicinal herbal tea." Together they picked herbs in the fields of Binissaida des Barrancons, following a family tradition passed down from generation to generation.

In this photo, on the right, you can see Cristina's father, the grandson of the founder of Licores Biniarbolla. In his youth, he served as an altar boy for the monks of Monte Toro. On the left, Cristina's daughter serves the herbs following her great-grandmother's original recipe.

It is said that Cristina's grandfather was an alcohol smuggler, disguising himself as a priest to transport liquor hidden in a coffin across the island. Later, it was her father who turned that story into a formal business, investing 25 years of his life in growing the business from Alaior. Thanks to his efforts, Biniarbolla established itself as the benchmark for herbal liqueur in Menorca.

In 2014, Cristina took over with the ambition of taking the company further. With energy and passion, she launched iNNat in 2015 as Menorca's first premium gin. In 2018, she launched GLOP, and in 2019, the brand took off. She personally handled marketing, social media, events, tastings, and distribution in Mallorca, successfully converting Duty Free into a customer.

But in 2020, the pandemic brought the world to a standstill. With tourism at a standstill, hotels, restaurants, and shops closed. Duty Free closed. And unable to afford the alcohol taxes, she was forced to make the toughest decision of her life: close the business and declare bankruptcy. Under the supervision of the Civil Guard, she had to destroy all her product.

Her only keepsake was a tattoo of iNNat on her arm.

In January 2021, she met Matthew, and together they decided to relaunch the company. They built a new factory in Es Castell, revamped the brands, and revived her grandmother's original recipe, harvesting the botanicals again in the fields of Binissaida des Barrancons, less than a kilometre from their new factory.

Today, Licores Biniarbolla is a revived Menorcan brand, a symbol of craftsmanship, quality, innovation, and authenticity. We are the only liquor store on the island with the Biosphere Reserve seal, a reflection of our commitment to sustainability. Our team has grown to eight people, and the company is expanding rapidly, with Mallorca as our next big step.

Now, we want to take our products even further. Opening our e-commerce platform is the natural next step to share our brands with lovers of Menorca, those passionate about authenticity, and all those who believe in its history and values.
